Here is a beautiful, dark bay gelding that stands 14.2 hands, weighs 1100 pounds, and is all business! He meets you at the gate every day, and loves people as well as any job you give him.
This horse has been used on the ranch, hauled to the show pen, and is a great ranch versatility show horse. Music is smooth at any gait; he is a great loper, deadly leaded, has big stops and fluid rollbacks. Outside, he goes where you point him! He walks out, crosses water, down timber and and rocky terrain. Music is qualified for the 2023 Ranching Heritage World Finals in Guthrie, Oklahoma in Ranch Riding and Ranch Cutting. Smokey is a five year old gray gelding that stands 14.3 hands and weighs 1150 pounds. Wearing the “Flying B” brand, Smokey comes from the famous Woody Bartlett Breeding Program. This horse is very well bred with running blood on top going back to “First Down Dash” and is out of a cow bred mare who is an own daughter of “Playgun” who has over 9.5 million dollars in offspring earnings. We have owned Smokey since he was a two year old, and have used him extensively on the ranch for daily operations including moving cattle, turning back in the cutting pen, teaching interns how to work with colts, ect. He is gentle, easy to catch, load, shoe, worm, vaccinate, clip, bathe, saddle, bridle, and lead off. This horse is sure footed in any terrain, crosses water, downed timber, rocks, bridges, etc. Even with time off, Smokey saddles up the same every time. Jackson is a big, beautiful, gentle, 6 year old palomino gelding that stands 15.2 hands and weighs 1250 pounds. For the last two and half years, this has been my personal go-to guy for any task on the ranch, as well as in the arena. We use him to start, flag, and pony all of our colts, gather cows, and turn back in the cutting pen; both at home, and at shows. He is an incredibly versatile horse. Jackson is very well balanced, which enables him to be a very smooth loper with a clean front end and a big stop! If you can ride, you will enjoy this horse immensely. He loves people, and meets you at the gate every day to go to work or play. Even with time off, this guy saddles up the same every time, is willing to ride off by himself easily, and is suitable for almost any level of rider. I have been training horses for over 25 years, and he is by far my favorite using horse that I have ever had the opportunity to ride and train. His conformation is very correct and balanced with a beautiful head, great hip, straight legs, and a perfect foot to support it all. He moves off your leg with ease to open and close gates, and has a soft, collected lope. He side passes naturally from any distance up to the mounting block to mount, and rides off quiet. If you are looking to compete in the AQHA Ranch Versatility or Ranch Riding, here is your horse. Jackson lopes great circles, has good speed transitions, smooth departures, great rollbacks, stops and spins, and works a cow. Jackson is ready to go have some fun and take you to the pay window. We have started roping on this horse out of the box, and he is taking to it like a duck to water! Speaking of water, he wades through all of it with ease. We use him as our lead horse when teaching colts to cross streams and rivers. Watch it all on his video. He has seen the lights of Vegas, and the full mountain moon of Wyoming. He has been ridden next to moving trains, through skateboard parks and in steep rocky country. See it all in his video! We have hauled and stalled Jackson from city to country; he has just about seen it all. We stand behind this horse all the way! He has no buck, no vices, and is 100% sound.
